Happy Birthday Andrew!

Andrew is one. We celebrated with a brunch with a few friends at our house. He are a few photos documenting the day for friends and family who are out of town
Andrew started the day "opening" a present from Mom and Dad. His favorite bath toy is Nemo, so we thought a plush Nemo as big as Andrew might be good.
Andrew loves his new book from Aunt Hannah and Uncle Zach. It is all about the colorful fish from Hawaii.

Jenn Cook made Andrew's beautiful birthday cake. It was delicious! Jenn made our wedding cake so it is very special to have a cake from her.

Andrew showing off his strong desire to walk.

Andew LOVED it when everyone sang "Happy Birthday"

Andew having his first bites of birthday cake and going for more!

Yummy!

Andrew enjoying his toys and birthday hat.

A few family photos.

Dad help helps Andrew open presents while Noah and Nathan supervise.

It was a great day. Andrew took a long nap after everyone went home.

Busy Weekend!!!

So it has been a little while since I last updated. We just wrapped up a very busy weekend with Halloween and Andrew's First Birthday! It was a great time and Andrew seemed to have a great time. Here are some photos that sum up the weekend.

Here is Andrew before a fun day at daycare for the Halloween Party!

I'm Sailing!

Finally at 81/2 months old we got Andrew on the water. We sailed with Andrew's godfather J from Baltimore to Annapolis. The sail lasted about 5 hours and finished with a late lunch at Cantler's. Andrew did great and the motion of the boat seemed to lend itself to some good napping.

Off to Milwaukee

Andrew had his first plane ride over the 4thof July weekend to meet the rest of the Shingledeckers at cousin Jessica's wedding. Above are four generations of Shingledecker men. Pretty amazing. Andrew proved that plane rides can be tough when you are little, but overall all weekend he was a trooper and very happy to meet lots of family. He was especially excited to meet his Aunt Hannah and Uncle Zach!

Here is Andrew with the bride. Her mother, Aunt Jan has a photo of her holding Luke while he was a baby at her wedding.

Getting bigger

Check me out. I am getting big! Here I am helping Daddy learn about my new "big boy carseat" and I can eat a cracker!

Playground! and Parties

We took Andrew to the playground for the first time! He is still a little small for the swings but he seemed to enjoy it!

Mid June brought the Annual Luke and J birthday party. Check out the little hawaiian shirt!

Hanging with the Kitties

Andrew has started to show much more excitment when the cats are around recently. He likes to watch them come and go, squeals with delight and trys to pet them. Sometimes he is gentle, sometimes, not so much. Luckily Max and Mileah are very tolerant and good to him.

Baptism and Grandparents Visit

May was a great month with Andrew's first road trip to Yorktown, VA followed a week later by having both sets of grandparents in town for Andrew's baptism. He had great time giggling with the grandpas and special time with the grandmas.

Almost 6 months

Things here are good and life is moving so fast. Andrew is gobbling up solid foods like they are going out of style. Today he had sweet potatoes for the first time and the were a big hit. We think his first teeth are starting to come in which means lots of drool, and some fussiness.

He Likes It!

Happy Bathtime

Andrew came down with the Croup, which if you have never expereinced, makes your child sound like a barking sea lion. Andrew is being a trooper and despite feeling punky still smiles for us to let us know he is ok. Here is a great shot after bathtime. Bathtime is Luke's specialty and Andrew knows it!

Visit from Uncle Scott and Aunt Courtney

Last weekend Scott and Courtney came from CA to visit and to meet Andrew for the first time. We had a great time going to the pub, playing around the house, watching basketball and going to the store.

Here is Andrew happy in his swing.

Watching a Duke Basketball game with Uncle Scott and Aunt Courtney.

Getting bigger

Andrew is getting bigger and now likes to sleep with his hands over his head. He has gotten too strong to be swaddled in a blanket so we now have to employ velcro. He is sleeping great (except for when he is sick) and is getting a stright 7 hours now! Yay!

3+ Months!!!

Life has gotten busy with Susan back to work full time and Andrew in daycare. Things are going well. Andrew is growing and changing daily. He is mister smiley and is starting to get ticklish we think. And in the last week he has started sleeping about 7 hours a night giving Mom and Dad some needed rest. Here are some new pictures...
Getting ready for bathtime with Grandpa.

Brrr....it has been cold this winter.

Playing on my activity mat for the first time. I still am not really into toys but I love people, funny faces and sounds, songs and stories.

Cheering for Duke basketball with Mom. It was looking like a good season, but those loses against Wake and Clemson were rough. Look at my chubby cheeks!!
